Chelsea Peretti Announces New Concept Album About Coffee, Shares New Songs: Listen

Chelsea Peretti, the stand-up comedian who starred in the original run of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, has announced her first musical project. The new album of comedic songs—a concept album about coffee—arrives in June. Today (April 21), she’s released the first five songs in an EP called Foam and Flotsam. Listen to it below and check out the videos for “LATE” (directed by Peretti and Rick Page) and “OATMILK” (directed by Numa Perrier). The “LATE” video features John Early and Joel Kim Booster, and “OATMILK” features Reggie Watts.

Peretti wrote and produced her album with Kool Kojak. It’s set to feature contributions from Kathleen Hanna, Nick Kroll, Hannibal Buress, Wale, Juliette Lewis, Chika, Terry Crews, Andy Milonakis, Will Schwartz, and Patti Harrison. A second EP of songs will precede the new album.
