Chenango Co. sheriff: Cortland County teen killed in one-vehicle crash in Town of Greene

A Cortland County teen was killed in a one-vehicle crash Tuesday in Chenango County.

The Chenango County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Kaleb M. Lorows, 19, of Willet.

The Chenango County 911 Center received a call Tuesday about a one-car motor vehicle accident on State Highway 206 near the intersection of County Road 2 in the Town of Greene, the sheriff's office said.

Members of the Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Division, Detectives Division and Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene to investigate.

Lorows was travelling eastbound on State Highway 206 in a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu when for some reason, the vehicle left the road, striking a guard rail before crashing into a tree, investigators said.

Lorows was pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.

The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Greene Fire Department, Genegantslet Fire Department and the New York State Department of Transportation.
