Cheri Haider, a 16-year veteran of the United States Postal Service, was recently named Postmaster of the Victorville Post Office.

Cheri Haider was recently named Postmaster of the Victorville Post Office, a role that oversees USPS services in the city, as well as the Spring Valley Lake and Oro Grande Communities.

Haider, who replaces Postmaster Oscar Gonzalez, will supervise 135 employees, and oversee retail services and daily distribution of mail on 59 delivery routes and to more than 3,000 PO Boxes at her facility.

Haider is a 16-year postal service veteran who began her career as a mail carrier and most recently served as the manager of a San Bernardino postal facility.

“I’m excited to assume this very important role,” said Haider in a written statement. “My goals are to provide exceptional service to the communities we serve, a good place to work for my employees, and to contribute to the overall success of the organization.

"As outlined in USPS’s Delivering for America plan, we are modernizing and continually adapting to the changing needs of customers who are priority one, whether they’re located in the biggest cities or smaller communities," Haider added.

“I want to express my gratitude to my peers and former postmasters for their support and assistance in my development, and to the leadership team at the USPS San Diego District office for believing in me and giving me this opportunity,” Haider concluded.

Haider’s hobbies include sewing, camping and reading, the USPS said.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations, postal officials said.
