Drew Barrymore is showing us that breakups don't always have to end badly.

On Friday's episode of her daytime talk show "The Drew Barrymore Show," the "Charlie's Angels" actress invited a special guest: her ex-husband Tom Green, to reunite for the first time in nearly two decades. Barrymore, 45, married Green, 49, in July 2001, but the two eventually split after he filed for divorce six months later in 2002.

When reminiscing about their short-lived, yet impactful marriage, Barrymore got emotional admitting that she still thinks "the world" of Green.

"I really love you and I celebrate you," she tells Green as she sits across from him six feet apart. "You’ve had a whole life and I’ve had a whole life. It’s just really nice to come together and check-in and talk about it, it just thrills me to no end.I celebrate you and I always have and I always will."

Green admits that he was "so happy" to be invited on the show.

"It’s been too long. It’s nice to reconnect," the comedian tells her. "We really did not talk for about 15 years I guess, and this is really the first time we’ve looked at each other face-to-face in 15 years."

"That was so exciting getting to do that movie with you," Green reflects. "And you know we kind of sort of hit it off right away pretty much. We had a lot of laughs together. I think one of our first dates I think we went and bought lobsters, because we both love animals and we both got lobsters and we released them into the ocean. That was what we decided to do."

Barrymore admits she still has a memento from their relationship: a Pentax K1000 camera he bought her.

As for Green, he also has his own keepsake, which he brought onto the show: a 20-year-old mug featuring a photo of Barrymore in a neck brace.

"I found this mug in my garage a couple of years ago and I just kind of kept it because I figured someday I might be on your TV show and it’d be fun to have a sip out of your mug," he laughs.

The two ended their reunion heartwarmingly with Green saying he is "grateful" for his experiences with Barrymore.

"We had a lot of amazing experiences and I am grateful for that and I cherish them. Thanks Drew I appreciate it."

"I cherish you right back," she responds.
