Cherry Hill health-food store shutting down after 30 years. Here's what is next

CHERRY HILL — Nature's Cupboard, a family-owned health food store located at 208 Kresson Road, is closing its doors this fall, likely in late October, after nearly 30 years of business.

Nancy Cutler runs the store with her mother, Anne Skalamera, who opened it in 1993. They recently sold the building to Tom Brennan, owner of the next door garden center Whitcraft Farms.

"I don't have any immediate plans for the space, but we're excited for what we will be able to do with it in the future," said Brennan, who is going on his second year as owner of Whitcraft Farms. He's still working out his vision for the added space and how it will expand upon the garden center.

As for Nature's Cupboard, Cutler expressed she and her mother will miss their customers, who know them as the duo "Anne and Nancy."

"It's a family business, so there's a lot more closeness than a regular business you'd just walk in and out of," Cutler said. She cited changing times and her mother's age as big factors in their decision to close.

"People are just shopping differently," she added.

The store is currently offering discounts ranging from 30 percent to half off on food, body care and wellness items.
