Cherry Valley man identified as victim of fatal crash

CHERRY VALLEY — A man killed in a fatal crash Saturday on Harrison Avenue has been identified as Larry Graham.

Graham, 70, of Cherry Valley, had exited his vehicle when he was struck by another vehicle, the Winnebago County Coroner Office said in a news release.

Shortly before 7 a.m. on Saturday, Cherry Valley police responded to Harrison Avenue between Mill Road and the I-39 overpass and discovered Graham dead in the roadway and two vehicles that had collided.

Graham was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the coroner, Graham died from injuries he sustained in the crash.

The crash is under investigation. The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Police and the Illinois State Police are assisting with evidence collection, crash investigation and reconstruction.
