Don’t Call Cheryl Fernandez-Versini ‘Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’
The ex-Girls Aloud ‘artist’ legally known as Cheryl Fernandez-Versini now wants to be referred to only as ‘Cheryl’.
As her divorce from Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini gets nasty, Cheryl wants to wipe all traces of him and first husband Ashley Cole from her life.
The singer, 32, below, has booked her first public appearance under her new mononym and will be referred to as ‘Cheryl’ when she receives the Global Gift Gala Philanthropist Award in Paris next month for her work with disadvantaged kids.
A source told the Daily Mirror: “Now the divorce is going through she wants to wipe the slate clean and start afresh. From hereon in, she will be known as Cheryl.
“This time around, everyone is under strict instructions that she is just Cheryl, nothing else. Organisers at next month’s event were told that all announcements of her attendance should only refer to her as Cheryl.”
Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria, 41, will present the Geordie star with the gong, which recognises her work with Cheryl’s Trust.
Cheryl, above with her estranged husband, has denied claims she was seeing One Direction star Liam Payne, 22, before her two-year marriage to Jean-Bernard had broken down.
