Mar. 17—DICKINSON — With more than 30 years of leadership experience in the health care industry, Carol Enderle has been named as the newest president of CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson Medical Center.

The announcement of the new president was made recently by leadership at the Midwest Division of CommonSpirit Health. According to the news release, Enderle is known for her progressive career, having served in previous leadership positions such as the vice president of patient care services and chief operating officer/chief nursing officer for SCL Health — Holy Rosary Healthcare in Miles City, Montana.

Enderle worked as the director of clinical services and program development for Adventist Health — Castle Medical Center in Kailua, Hawaii. Her previous clinical experience working as a nurse practitioner and as a registered nurse "is the foundation for her leadership," the news release read. Enderle is known for her commitment to "providing superior care with quality outcomes to patients by creating the best workplace environment for caregivers, physicians and the community."

Enderle fills the position that was held by DeeAnna Opstedahl, who served as interim president. Upon being named as the new president of CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson Medical Center, Enderle noted her excitement.

"It's a tremendous honor and opportunity to join CommonSpirit Health and lead CHI St. Alexius Health in Dickinson," Enderle said. "I am excited to begin working with hospital and community leaders to advance CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson's healing ministry and partner with our communities to exceed their expectations for health. I am proud to make North Dakota my home."

Before becoming a leader in health care, she studied nursing at Montana State University-Northern in Montana, earning her bachelor's degree. She then attended the University of Colorado in Denver where she earned her doctor of nursing practice, followed by her master of business administration from the University of Saint Mary in Kansas. Enderle worked toward her master of science in nursing degree through Gonzaga University in Washington.

Some highlights of Enderle's career include reaching the Top 100 Critical Access Hospital by iVantage Health Analytics and The Chartis Center for Rural Health and integrating a regional management structure as part of a broader network in healthcare delivery. She also worked on implementing a system-wide shared governance model for nursing and orchestrated the achievement of the 2020 Best Place to Work award for small hospitals in the state of Montana.

Currently, Endler is a member of the American College of Health Care Executives and the American Organization for Nursing Leadership.
