Chicago Bears’ Man of the Year nominee Jaylon Johnson gives back to Fresno
Former Central High star Jaylon Johnson gave back to the community Saturday in Fresno.
More than 100 people arrived at the Central East gymnasium for the Winter Wonderland.
“Just bring in a good environment so family can come in and have a safe place to hang out and to get some food, as well,” Johnson said.
“Just creating a lot of fun for the community.”
The event took place from noon to 4 p.m., with families enjoying carnival games, food and hot chocolate, music, face painting, balloon twisting, a bounce house and Christmas ornament decorating.
The event was going to be at Teague Community Center, but was moved to Central East because of inclement weather.
It was presented by Kevvys Vision. Kev’Vion Schrubb, Johnson’s best friend, was shot and killed in August 2021.
Johnson said he plans on having the Winter Wonderland on a yearly basis.
Johnson is in his third season in the NFL with the Chicago Bears and was nominated for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, recognizing a player for his excellence on and off the field.
