Chicago Med has added two new cast members ahead of season 7 following the exits of longtime players Torrey DeVitto and Yaya DaCosta.

When the new instalment of the NBC medical drama rolls around in September, The Village's Guy Lockard – who appeared as an unrelated character in one episode of Chicago Fire back in 2020 – and Being Human's Kristen Hager will be introduced as Dylan Scott and Stevie Hammer, respectively.

According to Deadline, Dylan used to be a police officer but quit the force to pursue a career as a doctor, while Kristen is a "brilliant and scrappy emergency room attending physician."

Steven Weber, who made his debut as former Navy supervisor-turned-interim Emergency Department chief Dr. Dean Archer on the show earlier this year, has been promoted to series regular too.

In response to the news of her departure, DeVitto took to Instagram back in May and wrote: "All good things must come to an end.

"It has been such an honor and pure joy to bring Dr. Natalie Manning to life for all of you on Chicago Med for the past 6 seasons. But it is now time for me and her to bow out and say goodbye."

Elsewhere, DaCosta said: "After six amazing seasons of working with some of the most dedicated people in the business, learning wild medical jargon, growing as an actor and as a person… my time as April Sexton on Chicago Med has come to a close.

"I'm going to miss everyone dearly, and of course, all of you who watch the show religiously and have also become part of the One Chicago family."
