Chicago Police Officers Honored Ahead of Mother's Day

Chicago’s First Lady honored moms working as police officers during the coronavirus pandemic ahead of Mother’s Day on May 10.

The Chicago Police Department shared this footage of Amy Eshleman, wife of Mayor Lori Lightfoot, surprising 11th District and 12th District law enforcement officers with flowers.

One of the officers in the video tells the Eshleman that it’s a difficult time for those unable to be with their mothers due to the coronavirus pandemic, and thanks the first lady for taking time to honor the police officers.

In a tweet, Eshleman wrote, “Enjoy your day; you’ve earned it!” Credit: Chicago Police Department via Storyful
