Chicago Ridge man denied bail, accused of stealing more than $14,000 in casino chips in Des Plaines

A 23-year-old Chicago Ridge man was denied bail after he was accused of robbing employees at a Rivers Casino in Des Plaines of more than $14,000 in casino chips, officials said.

On Oct. 31, Illinois Gaming agents said Ismail Ahmed Ateyat, walked into the casino wearing a black mask and armed with a handgun. Ateyat made off with more than $14,000 in casino chips, officials said.

Agents caught up to Ateyat at his home where they discovered a gun, a mask and the casino chips, officials said.

His next court appearance was scheduled for Nov. 30.
