Trump Tower in Chicago was locked down and a SWAT team responded after a woman brandishing a rifle walked into the luxury building.

SWAT officers were called to the Trump International Hotel and Tower on Wednesday morning after the alarming incident took place at around 11.25am CT.

Law enforcement sources told The Chicago Sun-Times that the incident was believed to be a domestic one in nature and not terrorism-related.

Chicago Police Department told NBC 5 that they had responded to a “call of service” at the skyscraper on the city’s Wabash Avenue.

“SWAT officers are on-scene in the 400 block of N. Wabash for a domestic-related incident. At this time, we believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public,” CPD tweeted.

A resident of Trump Tower, who identified himself only as Steve, told WBBM what he had seen.

“I was just doing some housework and some cooking and I decided to take some air,” he told the radio station. “I came down to the lobby and I was quickly escorted away from the lobby, out of the building and was told not to come back until it was clear.”

“I asked several times what was going on and they wouldn’t acknowledge.”
