First birthday for Fall River Chick-fil-A

Time sure flies (particularly at a chicken joint). It seems like just yesterday local foodies were clamoring to get their first taste of Chick-fil-A as the popular fast food chain opened a new location in Fall River. Now the Southcoast Marketplace spot is turning 1, and they want you to come help them celebrate their first anniversary at the bustling shopping center. According to their Facebook page, they have some fun games and prizes planned during breakfast hours and from 2 to 5  p.m. on Thursday, July 6. Stop by the 700 William S Canning Blvd., Fall River, location to get in on the excitement, and check their Facebook page for more details.

Get revved up for a caffeine-free Chippi

For years, java junkies have flocked to Mirasol's Cafe for its beloved highly caffeinated, and highly addictive, Chippi — dubbed by Phantom Gourmet as "coffee milk on steroids.” But what if you're craving the melted coffee ice cream flavored treat without the kick? Don't worry, Mirasol's has you covered. This week they introduced the Chippi Jr., perfect for a delicious, no-so-supercharged sip that you can share with the kids. You'll find the Chippi Jr. at both of their locations: in New Bedford, at 52 Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 3,  and Dartmouth, at 439 State Road.
