Dustin Schultes is the franchise owner/operator of the Monroe store, which is the 12th in the Detroit market. Schultes will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 125 full- and part-time team members, serving guests, and working with local organizations and businesses.

At age 16, Schultes began working as a team member.

“He quickly became inspired by the positive impact his operator, Scott Robinson, had on his personal life and community,” the company said. “Schultes received a scholarship from Chick-fil-A, Inc. for his studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and later went on to be accepted into the company’s Leadership Development Program, which gives future leaders the chance to learn alongside operators all across the U.S. and Canada.”

After the program, Schultes joined the team at the Allen Park restaurant. He met his wife, Brittany, through Chick-fil-A.

“Schultes looks forward to providing the same level of leadership, guidance and encouragement to his team Members in his new role as operator of Chick-fil-A Monroe," the organization said.

“Chick-fil-A not only holds a special place in my heart, but in my family’s heart as well. Growing up in Alabama, it was our family’s tradition to drive 25 minutes to the closest Chick-fil-A to celebrate any accomplishment or special occasion by sharing a meal together,” Schultes said. “I look forward to helping my team members achieve and celebrate their own accomplishments while striving to be the best versions of themselves on a daily basis.”

Chick-fil-A plans to give back to the local community.

Chick-fil-A Monroe is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Monroe area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A meals for a year.

In honor of the opening, Chick-fil-A will donate $25,000 to Feeding America on behalf of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Detroit area to aid in the fight against hunger.

Schultes’ restaurant also will be participating in the Chick-fil-A Shaded Table Program, which redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need.
