Chicken Wing Challenge play-in-round: Help decide who makes our poultry playoff
Last week, the Free Press put the call out asking chicken wing aficionados to nominate their favorite spots, and readers answered, nominating the best independent (not chain) places for chicken wings (bone-in or boneless) in metro Detroit.
Among the nominees, these restaurants all received a similar number of suggestions. We're asking you to help us narrow down the field by picking your favorites. The top eight will be in the first round of matchups, with voting starting Tuesday. Play-in voting is open until 6 p.m.
The play-in participants are:
342 Bar & Grill in Dearborn Heights
Biggs Bar & Grill, Chesterfield Township
Bugsy’s Bar & Grill, Warren
The Charlevoix, Grosse Pointe Park
Dunleavy's Pub, Allen Park
Francesca’s Brick Oven Pizzeria, Brownstown
K-BBQ, Canton
Da Edoardo La Lanterna, Detroit
Mavrix Restaurant & Bar, Shelby Township
O.W.L., Royal Oak
One Under Craft Beer & Eats, Livonia
Powell's Pub, Ypsilanti
The Southern Smokehouse, Detroit
Uptown Grille, Commerce Township

Vote in the poll below and check back tomorrow for the first round of matchups in the 2023 Free Press Chicken Wing Challenge.
