People who were hankering for a burger at the Independence Hi-Boy Drive-In were out of luck one day in June.

The restaurant closed for a day, and there were reports that Chiefs coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes were there recording a new commercial for State Farm.

That spot will air during Thursday night’s Chiefs-Lions game, and no, Reid doesn’t draw on anyone’s face this time. It stars Jake from State Farm (actor Kevin Miles), who tells Reid about the company’s bundling option using visual aids.

Those visual aids are some Reid’s favorite things in real life: a burger and fries, and he can’t help but taste them.

This spot is called Combo Meal, and Reid gleefully takes Mahomes’ cheeseburger at one point.

Another State Farm commercial will air during Thursday’s Chiefs game, and it stars Mahomes and Jake in a fictional Chiefs locker room.

The “players” get a bit too excited about the message of this commercial, but it’s all in good fun.

This spot is called “Mantra.”
