RIVERSIDE, Mo. – Chiefs Kingdom wants to prove it’s the best fan base and fans are having a blast with it, literally. Fans are exploding with pride as the Chiefs prepare for Super Bowl LVIII.

Chiefs fans take their support to a new level with over the top displays, from larger than life portraits, to a Chiefs themed explosion.

Buckley Powder Company shared drone video of their most recent blast.

Jon Olson is the regional manager of the explosive provider. He said they wanted to go all out this year with a KC Arrowhead.

It took 120 detonators with seven five pound jugs of red and yellow chalk – timed to a T.

“Lots of planning goes into a blast,” Olson said.

Since they’re blowing up rock, you don’t want to get too close. Olson said they detonate everything from a remote box, and stand a thousand to 1,500 feet away.

“Our day to day is very calculated. we want a hole in a certain spot so we can load explosives in a certain area,” Olson said. “So we can load a certain amount of explosives to break a certain amount of rock.”

The red and yellow on this blast in Eudora stung for one of their team members, he’s a Raiders fan.

Across state lines in Riverside, only Chiefs fans are in sight at another impressive display of support.

“I did a huge Las Vegas sign last week,” Artist Jeff Parson said.

He designed and painted the 12 foot Patrick Mahomes, Chris Jones and Travis Kelce portraits that are on display in his front yard.

He starts each season putting up Head Coach Andy Reid.

“He’s like the first ornament on the Christmas tree,” Parson said.

Then, Parson gets inspired, painting the highlights during the Chiefs’ run to the Super Bowl.

No surprise, Taylor Swift and a bare-chested Jason Kelce joined the party.

Parson’s yard sits right off four lanes of traffic. Parson thought it was the person place to spread positivity, joy and excitement for the Chiefs.

“There is nothing more that is unifying this city right now than the Kansas City Chiefs,” Parson said. “If I can be a small part of that, that energy that brings us together, I’m down for that. Aren’t we all down for that?”

He said the response has been overwhelming.

“I love you Chiefs Kingdom, I mean you wore out my security camera,” Parson said. “It sends me notifications. The last notification was, I quit, I quit. There’s too many.”
