Chiefs fans who tuned in late to Sunday’s preseason game against the New Orleans Saints may have missed seeing quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
After the Saints scored a touchdown on their first drive, the Chiefs got the ball and picked up 24 yards in six plays. The drive ended when the Chiefs failed to pick up less than 1 yard on a fourth down play.
Mahomes was in shotgun formation when tight end Blake Bell took a direct snap and was stuffed for no gain.

If you’ve seen that play before you’re not alone. The Saints’ Khalen Saunders, the former Chiefs defensive lineman, had seen it, and he helped blow up the play.
Chiefs fans have seen that sneak, too, and many shared on Twitter their hope the team does away with the play.

That’s our regular QB sneak. Ever since Mahomes got hurt doing it his second year as a starter, he hasn’t run one since. We always go gun to motion to Blake Bell to a sneak that always gets stopped. Hopefully he has some new ideas of this season though

We have a very good line , why do we need to sneak at all? There’s zero reason that this offense can’t line up Mahomes under center, and hand the ball off to get six inches in that situation. I’ve seen enough of the sneaks no matter who is taking the snap.
