The job of any sports franchise’s social-media team is to promote the players, regardless of the situation.

And with Pro Bowl voting opened, the Chiefs are encouraging fans to cast a ballot on social media. On Thursday, the Chiefs shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook about the team’s pass catchers.

The Chiefs made a Pro Bowl push for Travis Kelce, Rashee Rice, Justin Watson, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Kadarius Toney. It’s been a tough year for the latter two on that list, and fans poked fun at the Chiefs for making the case for them in the Pro Bowl.

Here is a bit of what fans were saying on X and Facebook.

A fan wrote on Facebook: “The Pro Bowl!! Let’s try catching the ball first, baby steps!!”

Another shared this: “Kelce, Rice, and Watson the other two can kick rocks.”

On Facebook, a fan shared this: “Then start playing like you belong there.”

Another wrote: “Love my team, but there’s only 2 guys in this photo deserving of being in the Pro Bowl conversation.”

A fan on Facebook wrote: “How dare you make this post” and included a laughing emoji.

Another included that same emoji and wrote: “I understand we want pro bowlers but let’s be real here...let’s place our votes on the defensive side of the ball”

“This is a joke,” a fan wrote on Facebook. “And I’m a chiefs fan. Rice is the only one who deserves it. Maybe Kelce.”

Another wrote: “Toney … pro bowl? Are you guys alright!?”
