Chiefs fans were so loud in Vegas, Skip Bayless mistakenly thought game was at Arrowhead

The Raiders are in their fourth season in Las Vegas, and the Chiefs have a perfect 4-0 record at Allegiant Stadium.

In a way, it’s unfair to say the Chiefs have succeeded on the road against the Raiders because each year there’s been a sea of red at the games in Las Vegas.

That was the case Sunday, as Chiefs fans were in full throat from the start.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid twice mentioned the great showing by fans.

“Appreciate our fans and the support that they gave us today. They were great, and we feel you,” Reid said following the Chiefs’ 31-17 win.

Reid mentioned the fans again during Monday’s news conference.

“I started off yesterday mentioning about the fans, they were phenomenal yesterday,” Reid said. “We appreciate all that support on these away games that we get.”

The large presence of Chiefs fans apparently made Fox Sports’ Skip Bayless believe the game was played at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

On Monday’s “Undisputed,” Bayless was singing the praises of Raiders quarterback Aidan O’Connell. Bayless mentioned how well O’Connell played in front of a hostile crowd.

“One quarterback did impress me yesterday. It was Aidan O’Connell,” Bayless said. “When the smoke cleared, I’m looked at all the QBRs, it’s my favorite quarterback stat, of the day yesterday.

“Guess who had the highest QBR of the whole day? Aidan O’Connell at Arrowhead, had a 90.4. That’s a scale of zero to 100. Mahomes had 80.3.”

Bayless was right about the QBR ratings, but not where the game was played.

One note on those QBR ratings: they are adjusted based on the strength of the opposing defense a quarterback is facing. That means O’Connell got a boost by playing against the Chiefs defense, which is third in points allowed and fourth in yards allowed.

Here is the clip of Bayless mentioning Arrowhead Stadium from X user Obi-Wan Mahomie. To be fair to Bayless, it kind of did feel like a Chiefs home game on Sunday. Again.
