Chiefs host Cass, Decatur in track action

The White Pigeon track and field teams hosted Cassopolis and Decatur on Wednesday.

The Chiefs took home first place in eight events for the girls and five events for the boys.

Ellie McBride won the shot put event, posting a distance of 31-7. Shelby McDaniel won the long jump at 13-9.5 feet.

Caylie Stuck won a pair of events. She took first place in the high jump at 4-2 and also won the 200 dash with a time of 30.08 seconds.

Rachel Schelstraete was first in the two-mile run, posting a time of 16:10.95.

The Lady Chiefs took first place in three of four relays.

The team of Stuck, Kaitlynn Grostick, Jasmine Stuller and Layla Goodwin won the 400 relay at 59.57 seconds. The team of Amyia Wright, Jamielynn Delarye, McDaniel and Hayley Strawser had a time of 4:54.03 to win the mile relay and the team of Delarye, Ana Miller, McDaniel and Strawser posted a time of 12:02.09 to win the two-mile relay.

Stuck finished third overall in the 100 dash at 14.59 seconds, Goodwin came in fifth at 15.07.

Delarye’s time of 30.50 seconds was good for second in the 200, Goodwin was third at 30.65 seconds. McDaniel came in third in the 300 at 1:11.45, Wright was fourth with a time of 1:14.04.

Miller ran to second place in the 800 at 3:10.44, Lydia Byler came in fourth position at 3:32.09.

Schelstraete finished second in the mile run at 7:06.91. Byler’s time of 8:18.10 was third, Kayde Bathgate finished fourth at 8:29.97.

Sarah Burns ran to third place in the 100 hurdles at 21.44 seconds, narrowly beating Sophia Hagen in fourth place at 21.49 seconds.

Burns finished second in the 300 hurdles at 1:00.78, Hagen was third at 1:03.34.

White Pigeon ran to second place in the 800 relay. Hagen, Miller, Jasmine Stuller and Wright posted a time of 2:09.70.

McBride finished third overall in the discus at 68-10. Stuller was third in the high jump at 4-0.

Luke Hinkson won the two-mile run for the boys at 15:48.70.

Caleb Lane leaped 18-10 to win the long jump.

White Pigeon won three of four relays on the evening.

John Bontrager, Josh Davidson, Braxton Neeley and Mekhi Singleton placed first overall in the 400 at 48.47 seconds. The team of Dylan Carper, Caleb Lane, Todd Hollingsworth and Neeley won the 800 at 1:38.40. Carper, Hollingsworth, Davidson and Singleton posted a time of 3:51.35 to win the mile relay.

Neeley raced to third in the 100 dash at 12.27 seconds, Lane was fourth at 12.35 seconds and Carper came in fifth at 12.61 seconds.

Hollingsworth was second overall in the 200 dash at 24.47 seconds. Lane finished third at 25.56 seconds and Singleton was fourth at 25.89 seconds followed by Gavin McGrady in fifth at 26.71 seconds.

Davidson ran to second place in the 400 with a time of 1:00.36. Bontrager was fourth at 1:03.91.

Jack Williams ran to third place in the 800 with a time of 2:40.01, Hinkson was fourth at 2:40.29.

Williams posted a second-place time of 5:37.66 in the mile run, Preston Delarye was third at 6:06.12.

Seth Miller was second in the shot put at 38-9. Chaz Underwood finished third at 34-10 and Wes Roberts was fifth at 32-3.

Underwood finished second in the discus event at 90-9. Miller was third at 87-11 and Roberts came in fourth position at 84-8.

Centreville hosts meet

The Centreville track and field teams hosted Bloomingdale and Mendon on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs won both girl events, beating Mendon 86-45 and Bloomingdale 105-24. Mendon also beat Bloomingdale, 68-58. The Bulldog boys won over Mendon 112-24 and Bloomingdale 95-39. Bloomingdale edged out Mendon 68-59.

The Centreville boys finished first in 13 events.

Dylan Coney won both sprint races, he posted times of 11.89 seconds in the 100 dash and 23.10 seconds in the 200. Coney also placed first in the long jump, leaping 18-5 feet.

Joshua Falkenstein was first in the 300 at 54.63 seconds, finishing just ahead of Jacob Falkenstein’s time of 54.82 seconds.

Cohen Longacre won both hurdle events. He had a time of 20.88 seconds in the 110 and 48.25 seconds in the 300.

Centreville won three out of four relay events.

The 400 saw Carter Cartier, Matt Truckenmiller, Alexander Frederick and Gavin Bunning post a time of 47.00 seconds to win. Tyler Swanwick, Joshua Falkenstein, Jacob Falkenstein and Coney won the 800 relay at 1:34.14. In the mile relay, Joshua Falkenstein, Ethan Miller, Jacob Falkenstein and Swanwick posted a time of 3:34.86.

Dylan Palmer was first in the discus at 110-8. Swanwick won the high jump at 6-0.

Bunning came in first in the pole vault at 11-feet.

Bunning finished third in the 100 at 12.27 seconds, Cartier ran a time of 12.81 seconds for third.

Swanwick’s time of 23.51 seconds was good for second in the 200. Dominic Smith ran to fourth place in the 400 at 57.30 seconds.

Miller posted a time of 2:05.24 in the 800, good for second place. Chaseton Wyckoff was third with a time of 2:07.98 and Aiden Crooks of Mendon finished fifth at 2:31.00.

Weis ran to third place in the mile run at 5:02.61. Wyckoff finished fourth at 5:37.69 and Ben reed was fifth at 5:52.64.

Weis finished second in the two-mile run. He had a time of 11:24.30, finishing ahead of Mendon’s Ben Iobe in third at 12:54.25. Landon Vanwormer came in fourth at 12:57.43 and Reed ran to fifth position at 13:05.84.

Caleb King of Mendon finished second in the 110 hurdles at 21.78 seconds. Zachary Garmire came in third position at 22.27 seconds followed by Iobe in fourth at 22.95 seconds and Kevin Morgan in fifth at 28.93 seconds.

Garmire finished second in the 300 as well at 53.01 seconds. Iobe placed third (53.96), King was fourth (57.00) and Morgan was fifth at 1:01.26.

Mendon’s 400 relay team finished second. Jack McCaw, Ibison, Alex Smith and Dylan Cupp had a time of 50.27 seconds in that race. In the 800 relay Cupp, Nick Stiver, Smith and Ibison finished third with a time of 1:46.64.

The mile relay saw Crooks, Marcus Hodges, Stiver and Smith finish third with a time of 4:14.29.

Centreville took second in the two-mile relay at 8:59.26. It was run by Miller, Felix Suchert, Weis and Wyckoff. Mendon’s team of Iobe, Crooks, Blake Stuart and Vanwormer finished third at 9:22.75.

Ibison won the shot put for Mendon. He had a distance of 36-7. Khayvien Brown finished second at 36-1.5, Carter Wilczynski placed third at 35-11 and Palmer finished fourth at 33-6.5. Iobe was fifth at 33-6.

In the discus, Wilczynski came in second at 97-2, Ibison was third at 88-6.

Cartier finished second in the high jump at 5-3, Max Yoder was second in the pole vault at 8-6.

Centreville or Mendon finished first in all 17 events in the girls’ portion.

Presley Allen of Mendon ran to first place in the distance runs, posting a time of 5:23.26 in the mile and 11:43.30 in the two-mile.

Gabby Bowen won the hurdle race. She posted a time of 17.58 seconds to win the 100, she ran a time of 54.70 seconds to win the 300.

Keyara Szymanski won both throwing events. She had a distance of 34-feet in the shot put and 87-3 in the discus.

Bella Kangas won the high jump for Centreville, clearing 5-feet. Mendon’s Alivia Stuart won the pole vault at 7-6 and Zoe Miller won the long jump for Centreville at 14-6.

Alexis Ames of Mendon ran to first place in the 100 dash at 13.90 seconds. Bowen finished second at 14.01 seconds, Ellie Miller was third at 14.47 seconds.

Bella Kessler won the 200 at 28.39 seconds. Jade Kuhbander came in second at 29.36 seconds, Ames was third at 29.59 seconds.

Kuhbander won the 400 with a time of 1:05.80. Amber Hostetler ran to second place at 1:08.45 and Adalae Hackett was third with a time of 1:14.11.

Autumn Major’s time of 2:42.95 won the 800, Kali Evens finished third at 3:37.18.

Major finished second in the mile run at 6:11.54, Evens was fourth with a time of 7:57.79.

Mara Webb placed second in the two-mile run at 17:36.87. She was also second in the 300 hurdles at 57.84 seconds.

Stuart finished second in the 100 hurdles at 18.88 seconds, Kangas came in third position at 19.66.

Kangas, Bowen, Kessler and Kuhbander won the 400 relay with a time of 55.28 seconds. The Mendon team of Naomi Slocum, Jada King, Stuart and Alicyn Arevalo was third at 1:01.18.

Kangas, Kessler, Zoe Miller and Kuhbander won the 800 relay for Centreville at 1:55.09. The Mendon squad of Ames, Hostetler, Stuart and Kayla Wenzel completed the relay in 2:05.12 for third.

Mendon won the mile relay. Chloe Behrends, Allen, Hostetler and Arevalo posted a time of 4:48.84 in that race. Centreville’s team of Major, Hackett, Ellie Miller and Frances Mildenberg was second at 4:53.56.

Hackett took second place in both throwing events. She posted a distance of 28-8.5 in the shot put and 77-3 in the discus. Rachael Eberstein of Centreville was third in the shot put at 25-11, Brianna Heitkamp of Mendon was fifth at 23-1.5 feet. Heitkamp was fourth overall in the discus at 62-6.

Webb and Arevalo tied for second place in the high jump at 4-6.

Ellie Miller leaped 13-3 for second in the long jump, Webb was third at 13-1.5 and Behrends finished fourth at 13-0.

Colon teams take second

The Colon track and field teams ran to second place at the third SCAA jamboree of the season held in Athens on Wednesday.

Tekonsha won in the boys’ event with 120 points, Colon finished with 113.5 points. Finishing third was Athens with 101.5 and Climax-Scotts came in fourth position with 81.

Athens took first place for the girls, posting 261 points. Colon finished with 99 followed by Litchfield in a distant third position with 39.

Colon got a pair of athletes with three victories in the boys’ event.

Alex Stoll ran to first place in the 100 dash at 11.2 seconds. He was first in the 110 hurdles at 15.0 seconds and took first in the 300 hurdles as well at 44.4 seconds.

Kody Dovey raced to first place in the 400 meter run at 56.4 seconds. He was first in the 800 run at 2:18.5 and finished first in the mile run as well at 5:16.

Colon’s 800 relay team also came in first place.

Jose Cubillo-Mora, Owen Wilson, Blake Vanderstraaten and Simon Vinson ran a time of 1:39.4 to win that race.

Vinson leaped 18-5.5 feet to win the long jump.

In the 400 relay, Colon’s team took second. Cubillo-Mora, Vinson, Stoll and Vanderstraaten ran a time of 49.2 seconds.

Kaleb Thaxton ran a time of 17:05.3 to place fourth in the two-mile run.

Vinson ran to second in the 100 dash at 11.5 seconds, Vanderstraaten was fifth at 11.9 seconds.

For the Lady Magi, Noemi Cester won the two-mile run at 12:27.5. Macey Burgess cleared 4-3 to win the high jump.

Sydney Taylor had a couple of solid finishes in the sprint races. She took second in the 100 dash at 14.1 seconds and was third in the 200 at 29.2 seconds. Megann Mullins also ran a time of 29.2 seconds in the 200 and posted a time of 1:09.0 in the 400 for second place.

Burgess ran to third place in the 800 at 2:46.6.

Azealia Lafler’s time of 13:56.9 was good for second place in the two-mile run. She posted a time of 6:28.6 in the mile for fifth place.

Colon’s distance relays each came in second place.

Burgess, Cester, Taylor and Mullins ran a time of 5:02.2 in the mile relay. The team of Lafler, Burgess, Mullins and Cester had a time of 11:43.8 in the two-mile relay.

Allison Vinson had a pair of top-five finishes in the throwing events. She posted a distance of 28-3.5 feet in the shot put and 67-3 in the discus. Abigale Drauch was fourth in the discus at 73-7.5 and fifth in the shot put at 24-9.

Constantine at Parchment

The Constantine track and field teams competed at Parchment on Wednesday.

The Constantine boys won both of their dual matchups, beating Kalamazoo Christian 90-47 and Parchment 86-51. The Lady Falcons were edged in both of their matchups, falling 103-28 to Kalamazoo Christian and 73-55 to Parchment.

The Falcon boys took first place in eight events.

Michael Featherstone won a couple of those. He was first overall in the pole vault at 10-6 and won the 110 hurdles with a time of 18.58 seconds. James Hendrix ran to first place in the 300 hurdles, posting a time of 44.79 seconds.

Julian Hawthorne picked up first place in the long jump at 19-0.75.

Dean Topolski ran to first place in the 400 run, he had a time of 52.42 seconds.

Constantine won the two-mile relay. The team of Hawthorne, Ethan Glick, Isaac Moore and Collin Featherstone placed first with a time of 8:48.84 in that event.

Bennett VandenBerg’s distance in the discus was first. He posted a throw of 136-1 in that event.

Josh Outlaw claimed first in the high jump event. He cleared a height of 5-9 to win.

Topolski ran to second place in the 200 meters at 23.58 seconds. Brayden Clark was third in the 100 dash at 11.56 seconds.

Charles Morris ran to third place in the 400 run at 56.79 seconds, Donovan Miller was fourth at 57.68 seconds. Hawthorne finished third overall in the 800, he had a time of 2:09.31 in that race. Collin Featherstone finished fourth at 2:16.90.

Glick’s time of 4:47.05 was good for third place in the mile run. Caden Jackson came in fourth at 5:07.52 and Moore was fifth overall with a time of 5:11.79.

Glick was also third overall in the two-mile run, posting a time of 10:33.82. Robbie King ran to fourth place at 11:44.22 and Jackson came in fifth at 11:47.32.

Michael Featherstone finished second in the 300 hurdles, he posted a time of 47.01 seconds.

Clark, Chase Bates, Michael Featherstone and VandenBerg came in second for the 400 relay. They posted a time of 47.33 seconds in that race.

In the 800 relay, Constantine’s team of Outlaw, Morris, Miller and Topolski came in second place at 1:36.92.

The mile relay saw Logan Patmalnieks, Marcus Dreger, Joe Faulkner and Cody Knapp come in third place at 4:22.91. The team of Brody Jones, Gabe Flores, Bates and Zach Stears placed fourth with a time of 4:37.87.

Patmalnieks, Tyler Juday, Flores and Dreger finished fifth in the two-mile relay at 9:50.08.

Tony Fish tossed the discus 105-7 for third, James Sailor was fourth at 104-11.5. Fish placed fifth in the shot put at 38-feet.

Sailor jumped 5-7 for third place in the high jump. Jones came in second in the pole vault at 10-0 and Collin Featherstone was third at 9-6. Bates finished fifth in the long jump at 15-11.25 feet.

Caterina Thelen won the pole vault for the Lady Falcons at 7-0.

Lilly Stears was second in both throwing events. She posted a distance of 30-11 in the shot put and 88-1 in the discus. Thelen finished third in the shot put at 29-6 and fourth in the discus at 74-11.5 feet.

Alexis David cleared 4-0 for third in the high jump.

Thelen also ran to second place in the 100 hurdles with a time of 19.43 seconds.

Kylie Ross ran to fourth place in the mile run at 6:44.64. Natalie Whitaker was fifth in the 800 run at 3:00.11.

Irene Lopez-Gasco finished with a time of 14.17 seconds in the 100 dash, good for second place. She was fourth in the 200 at 30.33 seconds.

Bronson at Jonesville

The Bronson track and field teams competed at Jonesville on Wednesday.

The Bronson boys fell to Union City 98-39 and Jonesville 115-22. The Bronson girls were defeated by Union City 99-33 and Jonesville 86-40.

Gerardo Martinez placed second overall in the pole vault for Bronson at 9-6. Isaac Grate finished at 9-6 as well for third. Boston Bucklin cleared 5-10 for the high jump, good for second place. Kamryn Brackett was fifth at 5-2.

Steven Pfister came in fourth position in the long jump at 17-3.

In discus action, Lance Salek finished fifth at 99-9.

Bronson’s two-mile relay team came in second. Perry Lake, Tyler Wilber, Tanner Norton and David Garcia posted a time of 9:47.55 in that race.

In the mile relay Norton, Artur Gasiorowski, Brackett and Wilber finished with a time of 4:00.37 for third place.

Bronson was third in the sprint relays as well.

Tyler Overholt, Landon Fletcher, Cesar Padilla and Martinez posted a time of 49.55 seconds for third in the 400 relay. Fletcher, Wilber, Martinez and Bucklin posted a time of 1:40.92 in the 800 relay.

Grate ran to fifth place in the 110 hurdles at 22.87 seconds.

Lake was third in the two-mile run at 11:28.09 followed by Garcia in fourth at 12:47.91 and Daniel Rinehart in fifth at 13:35.43.

Lake finished fourth in the mile run as well at 5:19.45.

Bucklin’s time of 54.0 seconds in the 400 was good for third place.

Sidney Swick paced the Lady Vikings, winning a pair of events. She took first place in the mile run at 6:00.71 and won the two-mile run at 13:00.80.

Jaiden Hayes also won two events. She took first place in the long jump at 14-5 and won the 200 meter run with a time of 29.72 seconds.

Abby Ware finished fourth in the 800 run with a time of 3:30.13, she was fifth in the mile at 7:39.20.

Hayes took second place in both hurdles. She posted a time of 18.30 seconds in the 100 and 52.87 seconds in the 300. Desirae Krontz finished fifth in both hurdles, posting 21.42 seconds in the 100 and 1:06.56 in the 300.

Alyssa Hurley was third in shot put at 21-0.5 feet.
