Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed wasn’t chosen for the All-Pro Team or even the Pro Bowl, but he continues to be a difference-maker.

During Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium, Sneed saved a fourth-quarter touchdown with an amazing diving play.

The Chiefs held a 10-point lead but the Ravens had the ball at the Kansas City 9-yard line as the final quarter started. Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson completed a pass to Zay Flowers, who dived toward the end zone.

Sneed jumped in and knocked the ball away from Flowers, who fumbled just before the ball crossed the goal line. The Chiefs’ Trent McDuffie recovered the ball in the end zone for a touchback.

The Star’s Nick Wagner got a great photo of the play.

What had to make the play all the more satisfying for Sneed was what had happened just minutes earlier.

Flowers had picked up 54 yards on a catch and run before being tackled by Sneed.

When Flowers got up, he stood over Sneed and dropped the ball. That earned Flowers a taunting penalty.

Fans noted how Sneed ended up getting payback, and a former Chiefs player praised his ex-teammate. Here is what was being said on X.
