A new batch of State Farm commercials featuring Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes usually arrives in late summer, and last year Kansas City fans got a surprise.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid appeared in a spot, and he had a dirty little secret. Reid liked to draw a mustache on Chiefs players as they slept. That included Mahomes.
The commercial was a winner and State Farm apparently wanted Reid and Mahomes back for another commercial.
According to the IndependenceMo Info Facebook/Instagram page, Mahomes, Reid and Jake from State Farm (actor Kevin Miles) were at a Hi-Boy Drive-In over the weekend shooting a commercial.
This is from that post: “Were you wondering why Hi Boy at 291 and Gudgell was closed yesterday? Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid and Jake from State Farm were there filming a new State Farm commercial.
“Andy Reid loves cheeseburgers so I’d say they picked a pretty good spot! No idea when the ad will start running on TV, but we will let you know when it does.”
Reid is a big fan of cheeseburgers (you may recall the Christmas present he received from the team), so that seems like a natural subject for a new commercial.
Facebook/Instagram user Chris Whiting shared a photo of Jake from State Farm in the KC area over the weekend.
