The NFL voted to ratify a rule change allowing teams to be scheduled for two “Thursday Night Football” games per season, while another rule regarding the ability to flex “Thursday Night Football” games was tabled. There are quite a few critics of the increased limit on Thursday night games, ranging from NFL owners to star players.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes didn’t have much to say, but he took to Twitter to voice his opinion with an emoji that speaks volumes. Check it out:

Facepalm is right. It’s already hard enough on NFL players and their bodies having one Thursday night game per season. It’s easy to see why a player like Mahomes would be displeased with the decision.

Asked about Mahomes’ tweet and opposition from players, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell insisted that this decision was made with the interest of players in mind.

“I don’t think we’re putting Amazon over our players,” Goodell said. “The data doesn’t show higher injury rate.’. … I hear from players who also love the 10 days after a Thursday Night game. We have to try to balance all of it. ”

We’ll see if Goodell actually happens to hear Mahomes’ concerns along with concerns from other NFL players or if he simply glosses over them with the decision two increase the limit on “Thursday Night Football” games already made.
