Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Justin Watson and Skyy Moore were the Chiefs’ starting wide receivers in their 23-20 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday Night Football. They combined for two receptions on five targets for 11 yards,

They all played more than 50% of the snaps, but Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ passing game couldn’t find much success against the Jets defense.

Mahomes completed the 200th touchdown pass of his NFL career, a 34-yard toss to tight end Noah Gray, but threw two interceptions; his 63.6 passer rating was the the lowest since 2021.

“I knew it was going to be a fight against that defense,” Mahomes said. “It’s football. It’s the NFL. Not everything is going to be easy.”

Mahomes and the wide receivers continue to build a connection. Two of his eight touchdown passes in four games have found a wide receiver, one each to Moore and Rashee Rice, who leads the wide receiver group and is second on the team with 13 receptions.
