If it’s not official, it soon will be: This is the year of Kelce.

After helping the Chiefs win Super Bowl LVII, tight end Travis Kelce visited “The Tonight Show,” hosted “Saturday Night Live,” stopped at some Academy Awards parties and now is planning his own music festival in Kansas City.

Kelce Jam — yes, that’s the name — will be held April 28 at Azura Amphitheater with Machine Gun Kelly headlining the show. Tech N9ne, Rick Ross and Loud Luxury are among those scheduled to appear at the event, which will include local barbecue (Q39 and Joe’s Kansas City) and custom cocktails.

This is more than an athlete lending his name to an event. Kelce owns the music festival, which will take place during the NFL Draft, and he picked the artists who will perform. Medium Rare, which will help produce Kelce Jam, previously worked on Shaq’s Fun House and Gronk Beach.

“I’ve always wanted to throw a party for Kansas City,” Kelce said. “I think we all fight for our right, we’ve been talking about that for quite a while now, and I think it’s finally time to go out here and party together, man. And Kelce Jam is coming to everybody draft weekend, April 28, and it’s for all ages. I got a bunch of my favorite music performers. ...

“I just wanted to be able to do this knowing that the draft is such a big event to come to Kansas City. Why not throw a big party for the Kingdom and for everybody coming into town? So it’s a lot of energy and a lot of excitement. And I can’t wait to see everybody on April 28, man.”

Organizers said ticket prices start at $49.99 and fans can register online at KelceJam.com before a ticket presale begins Friday at 10 a.m. VIP options also will be available, with a starting price of $224.99.

Machine Gun Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker, last played at the T-Mobile Center in July.

Baker went to high school in Shaker Heights, a suburb of Cleveland. That’s not far from Kelce’s hometown of Cleveland Heights.

“We actually grew up right down the street from each other,” Kelce said. “And I knew of Cols growing up. But for the most part, I’ve just been a big, big fan of his through high school, through college. Being able to see his success has been really cool knowing that we’re from the same area.

“He’s one of my favorite performers. He brings the juice every single time.”

Kelce Jam will take place during the second day of the NFL Draft. Kelce and his brother, Jason, will be in Kansas City two days earlier to record a live episode of their “New Heights” podcast at the Kansas City Music Hall. Jason is expected to be at Kelce Jam, too.

Travis Kelce said he’s ready for one final Super Bowl celebration before turning his attention to next season.

“We wanted to make it a festival for everybody,” he said. “So we’re going to have a lot of fun attractions, a lot of football games. A lot of Kansas City’s favorite foods are gonna be there. And I really wanted to make this something that’s kind of Kansas City’s own and make it just fun for everybody to be able to come out and enjoy a music festival together.”
