Chikako “Chiko” Stover

Chikako Lee Stover, known as “Chiko” by her family and friends went to be with the Lord on August 18, 2021. She was born in Okinawa, Japan on July 19, 1953 and was the youngest of three sisters. She moved to the United States when she was 11 years old with her mother and sisters. At the age of 17, she met the love of her life Charles “Charlie” Stover; they were married a year later on October 8, 1971 and have four sons.

Moving throughout California following her husband and his career, they finally settled in Ridgecrest, CA in 1990. Chiko was a loving, caring mother and wife raising the boys and supporting them in all their endeavors. She was right by her husband’s side until the good Lord called him home in 2010.

The motherly side spilled over into her work life. She worked as a manager in the fast-food industry working alongside many of Ridgecrest’s Youth. She watched each of them grow, from teens to mature young adults. She was proud of them all.

In 2012, Chiko moved to Texas to be closer to her mother and oldest sister. Chiko was making friends wherever she went and will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her four sons Jimmie of Hurricane, Utah, Daniel and wife Kim of Midland, Texas, Twin Sons: Christopher and Michelle and Aaron and Erikka of Ridgecrest, California, three nieces who she loved dearly Patricia Stanley and Elizabeth Nelson of Decatur, Texas, Heather Esterly of Las Vegas, Nevada. Nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition, to numerous great nieces and nephews and her Chihuahua Layla.

She was preceded in death by, husband Charles, Mother Masako “Skeeter” McLean, Sister and Brother-In-Law Nagako “Nicky” and Jimmy Long, Sister Yoshino “YoYo” Esterly.
