Child, 3, dies after putting phone charger in his mouth in India

A three-year-old child has died in India after he was electrocuted when he put a phone charger in his mouth which was still plugged in.

The incident happened on Sunday May 19 in Uttar Pradesh’s Jahangeerabad, which is in the north of the country.

The victim has been identified as Sahwar, son of Razia and Shahid.

The child was at his grandparents’ home with his mother when the tragedy happened.

Sahwar put the charging pin in his mouth and got an electric shock which caused him to fall unconscious.

The young boy was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead.

In December of last year, Irina Rybnikova, 15, died after she was electrocuted by her iPhone while taking a bath.

The Russian teenager was messaging her friend and dropped her phone in the water as her fingers were wet and slippery.

In another incident in March 2017, Richard Bull from Essex died while he was charging his phone.

Mr Bull had left the phone on his chest and suffered severe burns when the part between the phone charger and the cable had made contact with the water.

In 2017, Madison Coe was electrocuted when she was using her phone in the bath.

The teenager from New Mexico had her phone plugged into the extension cord and it was by the bathtub.
