Child killed, three others injured in Cumberland County house fire

A child was killed Tuesday in a fire at a home off Cumberland Road, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

Deputies and the Cumberland Road Fire Department responded at 12:04 a.m. to reports of a structure fire in the 2500 block of Dasher Lane, the release said. Four family members were in the home at the time of the fire, according to the release. The Sheriff's Office said the cause of the fire has been ruled accidental.

One child was pronounced dead at the scene, and two adults and a child were taken to a medical facility for treatment, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Fire investigators have assumed the investigation with help from the State Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the release said.
