A video of a boy playing on the ledge of a high-rise complex in central China has shocked social media users and prompted police to warn parents.
Catching the moment: A woman who lives opposite the building in Zhengzhou, Henan province, caught the hair-raising moment on camera on Aug. 12. In the video, the boy can be seen and heard playing hide-and-seek from what appears to be a ledge at least five floors off the ground.
The video shows the child cowering next to an air conditioner on the ledge beneath the window of his home. Some time later, an adult emerges from the window and appears to order him to climb up.
Parents notified: Shocked at the sight, the concerned neighbor reportedly rushed to find a security guard to report the situation. Later, staff at the residential building said they notified the child’s parents and vowed to strengthen management to prevent similar incidents.
