Child riding scooter hit by vehicle in Cumberland County, sent to hospital

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– A child riding a motorized scooter was injured after being hit by a vehicle in Cumberland County, according to police.

Upper Allen Police wrote in a news release that officers were called for a crash involving a car and a motorized scooter at about 11:21 p.m. on Friday.

When officers arrived at the scene, located at the intersection of South Market Street and Cumberland Parkway, they learned that a child was on the scooter.

There was a red light that the child did not stop for and ended up colliding with a vehicle that was making a turn onto Cumberland Parkway, according to police.

The child was rushed to Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center for treatment, however police did not state the extent of their injuries.
