  1. When Atlanta police tracked a stolen vehicle with a 1-year-old child inside Monday in southwest Atlanta, a happy ending was in store for the toddler. The search for the stolen red Ford Focus began shortly after 5 p.m. Monday, with officers and the Atlanta Police Department's Air Unit finding the stolen car near University and Prior streets. The suspects attempted to get away but crashed into a stop sign, at which point the driver and passenger fled on foot. Using heat sense technology, officers found one of the suspects hiding inside a dumpster. The other suspect is still on the run. As for the happy ending, officers found the toddler unharmed at a nearby business. (FOX 5 Atlanta)

  2. State Farm Insurance is hiring more than 600 people in Atlanta during an online event today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The positions will be based out of the State Farm Atlanta Hub in Dunwoody and roles will be hybrid, meaning work-from-home and in-office work is flexible. Individuals interested in positions in claims, customer service, sales, and underwriting can register to attend the virtual New Year, New You in 2022 Career Fair online.   3. Yelp has released its Top 100 Places to Eat in 2022 in the U.S., and four Atlanta restaurants made the list. After asking its users to submit restaurants they can't wait to return to in 2022, Yelp's data science team then looked at ratings, numbers of reviews and volume of submissions to determine its Top 100 list. In addition to the four Atlanta restaurants serving Mediterranean, Asian, small plates and burgers, one restaurant in Augusta also made the list. (CBS46 News Atlanta)

  4. Wednesday afternoon, Atlanta mayor Andre Dickens announced his full transition committee, a 40-person team consisting of leaders from a diverse range of socioeconomic backgrounds and industries. According to his office, the team is nearly split by race and gender, with three members of the LGBTQ community, five faith leaders, 10 corporate executives, eight small business owners, and 15 nonprofit leaders.   5. Georgia State University has received University System of Georgia Board of Regents approval to offer a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Health Sciences degree. The first of its kind in the state of Georgia, the new degree program will educate future health researchers and educators, with concentrations in cardiopulmonary care, nutrition, occupational therapy and translational rehabilitation science.
