New children’s book exhibit at National Building Museum

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The National Building Museum‘s new exhibit Building Stories is now open to visitors.

It is inspired by some of the most well-known and loved children’s books. Aileen Fuchs, President and Executive Director for the National Building Museum says it is a great place to take the family.

“Building Stories uses the wonder and imagination of children’s books to explore how we find our place in the built world and how we can advocate for a better one,” said Fuchs.

Home in Northeast DC catches fire

It is the museum’s first permanent exhibit in over a decade. The multi-generational exhibition is full of hands-on interactive activities and reading nooks.

‘You never really outgrow your favorite children’s books,” said Fuchs. “Walking in the exhibit and seeing… Eloise at The Plaza, Winnie the Pooh. It’s really really special”

The museum has a special offer that will help you stretch your dollar. There are 10 Saturdays this year and 10 next year where it will be free to visit. It is also offering a free readers club.

Fuchs says they expect to enroll 11,000 kids in it over the next two years.
