PORTSMOUTH — Children’s Day, produced by Pro Portsmouth, will take place in Downtown Portsmouth on Sunday, May 7, from 12 to 4 p.m.

As is tradition, Pro Portsmouth invites young artists to share their talent and participate in the Children’s Day Logo Contest. The Logo will be seen on event maps, the event website, Children’s Day T-shirts and all marketing collateral.

Special for 2023! Throughout the year, Pro Portsmouth is asking artists to create logos that honor the City’s 400th anniversary throughout 2023.

Here are a few guidelines for 2023:

  • Artists under age 12 are eligible to submit drawings and designs

  • Portsmouth’s 400th Anniversary - refer to: https://www.portsmouthnh400.org/400-years-of-history

  • Please use a maximum of four colors

  • The image should be drawn and submitted on 8.5” x 11” paper

  • You can use colored paper, markers, crayons and colored pencils to create your design – the key: the image must be flat (so it can be scanned into a computer)

  • The deadline for submission is Wednesday, March 31

  • Please incorporate the year 2023 in the design.

  • Get creative – your drawings should be festive, fun and recognizable.

  • Check out previous logos here: https://proportsmouth.org/childrens-day-logo-contest/

Please submit your entries to: info@proportsmouth.org or Pro Portsmouth, Inc., P.O. Box 967, Portsmouth, NH 03802. For more information about Pro Portsmouth and our events go to our website: www.proportsmouth.org.

The group was led by Pat Livingstone, a history teacher and coach and Pam Mulcahy, a math teacher . Pam, whose own father passed away of covid in a nursing home , was very compassionate about the crisis. One thing all of students could all agree on was that there is a clear line between life before and after covid.  Staff were surprised and pleased by this gesture of kindness.
