Children of internally displaced persons (IDPs) born after Feb. 24, 2022, will be able to receive housing allowance after the new procedure for receiving IDP payments comes into force on Aug. 1, Ukraine’s Ministry of Social Policy reported on its website this morning.

Children of IDPs born during the war are now entitled to UAH 3,000 ($82) in housing allowance

As with all IDPs, such payments will be provided for six months with the possibility of extension for the same period for certain categories of displaced persons.

Payments to IDPs were extended until the end of January 2024. For all IDPs currently receiving housing allowance, their eligibility will be automatically extended for another six months starting Aug. 1, 2023, until the end of January 2024.

All IDPs living in Ukraine will be provided with further financial assistance in the following amounts:

— for disabled persons and children – UAH 3,000;

— for others – UAH 2,000 ($55).

As of May 2023, a total of 48,321 babies were born in Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
