Children receive diplomas with Ukrainian emblem in Russia's Khabarovsk, investigation underway – photo

In Russian Khabarovsk, kids received diplomas featuring the Ukrainian national emblem, following a competition in kindergarten.

It appears that an investigation was launched into the circumstances of the "unacceptable situation".

Diplomas with state symbols of Ukraine were distributed after the competition, in which children from several kindergartens participated.

The mistake was made by a teacher of physical education, who simply "printed a template [downloaded] from the Internet."

According to Medusa, a Russian news portal baser in Latvia, the incident happened in Khabarovsk kindergarten No. 137.

After graduation, the children's diplomas were withdrawn, and an investigation began.

The mayor of Khabarovsk claims that the teacher from kindergarten No. 122 who had caused the incident submitted a resignation letter after the graduation.

The Khabarovsk Education Department said they would hold conversations and exams on knowledge of Russian symbols with all employees of educational institutions.

They also said that the children had already been issued new diplomas.

"We will hold conversations and exams with all employees of educational institutions regarding the knowledge of Russian symbols," a local politician added.

Earlier in the Russian city of Chita, children in kindergarten were awarded diplomas with the emblem of Ukraine. The head of the institution was fired as a result of the incident.
