Children's museum announces interim leadership as Stephanie Terry heads to mayor's office

EVANSVILLE — The Koch Family Children's Museum of Evansville has selected an interim executive director in the wake of Stephanie Terry's election as the city's next mayor.

Nathan McCullough-Haddix will take over as Terry begins her transition to leading the city.

The museum's board of directors will use a search committee to find a candidate to fill the position permanently.

McCullough-Haddix has been with the museum as its deputy director for five years and has nine years of nonprofit experience.

Before coming to cMoe, he worked at WTVW, WEVV and Give a Dog a Bone.

“The board is thrilled to have Nathan step into this role, while we search for the new executive director,” Will Cartwright, cMoe's board president, said in a news release. “The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated leader who is passionate about cMoe’s mission.”

Cartwright also thanked Terry for her 13 years of service as the museum's executive director.

"We wish Stephanie the best of luck and look forward to working with her as she steps into her new role as mayor,” Cartwright said.

McCullough-Haddix said he was honored to take over the position in the interim. "I look forward to working with the Board, staff and community members to build on the organization’s strengths so as to take the Museum to the next level in its regional impact," he said.

The museum is currently in its Play it Forward capital campaign which will continue under the new director.

According to the news release, the public phase of the campaign launched in September with $5.1 million raised towards its $6.5 million goal.
