Children’s Wisconsin has closed its urgent care clinic at 8375 S. Howell Ave. in Oak Creek.

“Our Children’s Wisconsin Oak Creek Pediatrics primary care office at the same location is not impacted,” according to a May 31 post on the health care system’s official Facebook page.

Children’s Wisconsin is planning to open a new urgent care at the former site of the  Forest Home Branch Library, 1432 W. Forest Home Ave., on Milwaukee's near south side, on June 20. That clinic will offer expanded hours, and provide mental and behavioral health services, primary care and imaging services, hospital officials said.

Other health care systems do offer urgent care in the city of Oak Creek including the Froedtert Drexel Town Square Health Center at 7901 S. 6th St. and Aurora Urgent Care at 200 E Ryan Rd. Both Froedtert and Aurora indicate a readiness to care for children at their urgent care facilities.

Children’s Wisconsin offers urgent care services at its Delafield, New Berlin, Wauwatosa, Mequon and Kenosha locations. Video visits for children for children ages 0 to 17 are also available from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to the Children’s Wisconsin website.

Walk-in urgent care locations offer care weeknights and weekends. Visitors can simply walk in or reserve a stop ahead of time. X-ray imaging is available in Delafield, Mequon, New Berlin and Kenosha.
