Chilean swimmer breaks Guinness world record

a Guinness world record
by swimming between the
Pacific and Atlantic Oceans

Barbara Hernandez swam
one nautical mile
in 15 minutes and three seconds
CHILEAN SWIMMER, BARBARA HERNANDEZ, SAYING:
“The main obstacles or adversities were first the water temperature. It’s very cold, it’s around 44 to 46 degrees Fahrenheit. It’s also a distance that, at that location, had never been swum by a woman or a man. That made us extra careful with things like hypothermia, which can be severe. We wanted to work under the best conditions in a very inhospitable environment.”
Hernandez is known as the 'ice mermaid'
She says she wants
