HUDSON — Playing golf in 90-degree temperatures presents unique challenges.

Perhaps it's no surprise that day two of the Hudson Junior Invitational was led by an Arizona native and someone who is, well, Chill.

Tucson native Mackenzie McRee and Columbia Station's Bradley Chill each shot rounds of 68 (four-under-par) Wednesday to take the lead at The Country Club of Hudson.

Chill, a rising junior at Cleveland St. Ignatius, sits with two-stroke lead heading into Thursday's final round at five-under-par 139 (71-68). He had the top round of any boy so far this tournament.

With him in Thursday's final trio will be Indianapolis' Leo Wessel, who had a round of 70 Wednesday and sits at three-under-par 141. Wessell heads into the final day looking to improve on last year's third-place finish.

Rounding out the final trio is Michael Weber of Burlington, Canada, who is at two-under-par 142 (72-70)

Archbishop Hoban junior Jack Vojtko remains in contention at one-under-par 143 (71-72). He is tied for fourth with Dublin's Brent Podobinski.

In the girls tournament, McRee caught fire Wednesday, as hers was the only female under-par round.

McRee is the only girl under-par for the tournament at one-under-par 143 (75-68). She will take a four-stroke lead into the final round.

Day one leader Raina Ports of Oro Valley, Arizona, slipped to second place with a round of 75. She is at three-over-par 147 (72-75).

Perrysburg's Sydney Deal, who finished third last year, bounced back from a tough first day and is tied for third at 148 (78-70) and will be in the final trio. Alexandra Petrochko of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, also is at 148 (74-74).

The final round will begin Thursday at 6:45 a.m.
