Chillicothe man dies in Thursday crash

Sep. 3—A 64-year-old man died Thursday night in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 36 Highway.

Michael B. Wiggins of Chillicothe, Missouri, was eastbound in the westbound lanes of U.S. 36 Highway about 5 miles west of Chillicothe when he collided with Chad A. Shelley, who was driving a 2016 Kenworth, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

Wiggins' Mitsubishi Outlander came to rest on its side in the median, the crash report said. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Livingston County assistant coroner and taken to Lindley Funeral Home.

Wiggins was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the crash report.
