NHL Heritage Classic will see Alberta teams square off amid chill, clear skies
Are you ready, hockey fans? The 2023 National Hockey League (NHL) Heritage Classic is coming to Edmonton on Sunday with the Oilers facing off against none other than the Calgary Flames.
The two teams faced off against each other back in round 2 of the 2022 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs, in what was passionately dubbed the "Battle of Alberta." Then, the Oilers had swept the Flames in game five to advance to the conference finals.

Now, the Flames have a chance to redeem themselves against their fellow Albertan rivals as the puck drops in Edmonton on Sunday evening.
Since the Heritage Classic is played on an outdoor rink, it's important to know what weather to expect, lest you accidentally freeze to your seats.
Luckily, after days of cloudy skies, the sun will reappear once again on Sunday to shine down on the Heritage Classic and the puck will be the only thing to drop that day.
Temperatures will be close to the freezing mark come game time and will quickly drop several degrees by the end, making for some chilly play. Fortunately, winds will be pretty light with only gusts from 10-20 km/h throughout the day. This will add a bit of wind chill throughout the day and evening, but nothing a bit of classic layering won't fix.
