China Lights festival will return in September to Boerner Botanical Gardens

The popular China Lights Wisconsin Festival will return to Boerner Botanical Gardens Sept. 16.

The event was canceled in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic and staffing shortages.

China Lights 2022 will run from Sept. 16-Oct. 30, according to a statement released Tuesday by Milwaukee County Parks. It will consist of more than 40 sets of handmade lantern sculptures, plus the return of a cultural performance stage sponsored by We Energies.

It will be sponsored by TriCity National Bank. Ticket and other information will be posted in July. Visit chinalights.org for details.

China Lights, which began in 2016, drew large crowds each autumn through 2019.
