China’s self-driving RoboTaxi hits the road

Companies developing artificial intelligence (AI) technology are racing to put autonomous taxis on the streets of China. One of the competitors in the potentially lucrative self-driving cab business is the WeRide RoboTaxi service based in the southern city of Guangzhou. The South China Morning Post’s Jane Zhang took a spin as the company started offering test rides to the general public on November 28, 2019.
