Chinese man sets world record with 50-story house of cards built in 5 hours
A man from China’s Shandong province has set a new Guinness World Record by building a 50-story house of cards in 12 hours.
Tian Rui started building at 9:20 a.m. and finished at 2:24 p.m. for the Nov. 10 attempt, which was part of the 2022 Guinness World Records Day celebrations. His attempt took five hours and four minutes.
Epic photos taken during his build show Tian on a ladder stacking and balancing the cards.
The house, which stood at 3.375 meters, remained erect for more than 10 minutes before it collapsed.

The successful attempt is officially known as the world’s tallest house of cards built in 12 hours.
Tian, who lives in Qingdao, also set the Guinness record for tallest house of cards (27-stories) built in one hour in July.

Building a sturdy house of cards requires coordination, dexterity and patience. Social media users praised Tian for his latest feat.
“I would have been devastated if one of the cards had gone down. The young man's patience and endurance are really extraordinary,” one Weibo user wrote, according to Global Times.
