This Chinese restaurant in Fresno will be shutting down

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A popular Chinese restaurant in Fresno will be closing its doors on Sunday.

Pauline Dunn, the owner of Shanghai Chinese Cuisine at Blackstone and Griffin planned to shut down on Tuesday but due to the overwhelming amount of customers that showed up wanting a last meal at the restaurant, she changed her mind.

“Customers waiting for like three hours. So, I make a decision myself and I asked my employees that we gonna extend it maybe until the weekend. So probably, our last day would be Sunday,” she said.

Dunn wants to find a new location for her business to be more profitable.

Fresno Mayor Jarry Dyer says he would love to help in the process and would like the see the restaurant open in Chinatown.
