News and notes

If you're looking for a reason to smile today, visit Facebook at facebook.com/bistro26erie and find the post that reads, "In 2017, James began working at Bistro 26, 3557 W. 26th St., through the Supported Employment Program and recently celebrated his 5th anniversary. As a way to say 'thank you' for the job he loves, James presented the owners, George and Angie Gourlias, with a special award." James (no last name given) wrote a letter of appreciation to George and Angie and made them a plaque for being the "Best Bosses Ever." There's also a video and a post at facebook.com/BarberNationalInstitute/, which I dare you to watch without tearing up.

New boozie cupcakes are Luminary Distilling's way of celebrating spring. I'll have one of each please, to start. Strawberry Margarita is a fresh lime-cake, infused with housemade 814 Agave, filled with macerated strawberries, topped with a strawberry lime buttercream. Also available is Limoncello, a fresh lemon cake infused with housemade limoncello and topped with lemon buttercream. Available only at the Peach Street location. However, here's to remembering that Luminary, 8270 Peach St., has a new location inside the Flagship City Market House downtown, 34 North Park Row. They're open Tuesdays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Fridays and Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. They don't have food at the market location, so you can bring some in, perhaps from Gordon's or the Flagship City Food Hall.

Starting Sunday, the Meadville Market House, 910 Market St., will be open on Sundays, according to the March Market House newsletter. Hours for the market are now Tuesdays through Fridays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 814-336-2056, www.meadvillemarkethouse.org.

Purrista Cat Cafe, 30 W. Eighth St., is offering Cat Yoga classes with Amy VanScoter. The class is 90 minutes and costs $35. If you want to try to find balance, or at least joy, amongst some friendly felines, make a reservation at bit.ly/purristacatYoga.
