Chino Valley police offer a safe exchange zone for child swaps and internet transactions

Chino Valley offers a safe exchange zone located on 220 N. State Route 89 for parents to safely swap their children, following their parenting plan.

Many cities have designated safe zones for parents to exchange custody in publicly monitored areas, usually located in police department parking lots. Even before the zones were designated, Chino Valley police told the Arizona Republic, that police stations were already used to safely carry out child swaps.

The zones are also used for internet transactions and to exchange goods bought on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and other sites. The monitored sites help reduce the risk of violence and other criminal activity.
