Chinook Helicopter Flies in to Combat Quilpué Fire

Helicopters were called in to provide aerial support in Quilpué, Chile, for firefighting crews on Friday, January 15, as a wildfire devastated hundreds of acres in the region.

This video uploaded to Twitter by the Chilean government’s National Forestry Corporation shows a Chinook helicopter carrying water in a smoke-filled sky to aid firefighting efforts.

The National Emergency Office ordered the evacuation of residents in parts of Quilpué.
